WALKING SAFARI ACTIVITIES
Arusha National Park Walking Safari
Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s most convenient parks and is a fantastic destination for a day trip and makes for a great beginning or end to any northern circuit itinerary and has variety of ways of exploring the richness inside the park.
One of the ways is through walking safari whereby you will be accompanied by an armed park ranger, you will make your way through the various forest and savannah habitats, observing wildlife from a safe distance. The scents and sounds of the African bush are best experience by foot. Here you’ll be walking alongside wild, freely roaming animals in their natural habitat.
One of the highlights on a walking safari is walking up to the top of Tululusia Hill, a former lookout point during Tanzania’s tribal wars, which has panoramic views of the lower reaches of Arusha National Park.
You will be able to spot the black and white colubus monkey, giraffes and other animals like buffalo, zebra’s, warthog, and blue monkeys. You will also have a great opportunity to spot birds like trogons, starlings, turacos and thousands of migrating flamingos.
This activity takes about 2 hours.
Lake Manyara National Park Walking Safari
Couched between the impressive Rift Valley escarpment and the sparkling waters of the lake, Lake Manyara National Park is a lush little wedge of paradise. Baboons, elephants, zebra, hippos, flamingos, giraffe, monkeys, many types of antelope and the elusive tree lions make for an exciting safari. Lake Manyara National Park is a true paradise for bird lovers!
You can explore this park by doing a walking safari inside Lake Manyara National Park whereby you will start early or between 7:30a.m. to 06:00p.m. hike down the Great Rift Valley, through a dense ground water forest. View birds, monkeys, bush buck and other forest animals. Immerse yourself in the sounds of the forest while the fresh streams and waterfalls surrounding you.
Lake Manyara Tree Top Walkway
Manyara Treetop Walkway takes you on an adventure through the beautiful forest of Lake Manyara. Walk among the treetops, the experience untouched nature and wildlife from a unique perspective. This 400m canopy walk starts with a short board-walk that gradually rises from ground level up through the canopy of the forest. You walk over a series of suspension bridges with thick netting on the sides and reach a height of 18m off the ground. It offers a unique birds-eye view of the world around you. Enjoy life in the canopy amongst butterflies, monkeys and birds. The average time it takes to enjoy the Treetop Canopy Walkway is approximately 30 minutes to an hour from the time you entered the ground, allow yourself ample time to relax and enjoy the views.
Ngorongoro Walking Safari on the rim of the crater
This scenic walking safari takes place in the Ngorongoro Conservation area with the largest unbroken caldera in the world; the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. During this remote walking safari you will explore extinct volcanoes, diverse landscapes, wildlife and meet the local Maasai who live in this area. Immerse yourself in these beautiful highlands, away from the crowds. The views and scenery are truly breathtaking.

Tarangire National Park Walking Safari
Tarangire National Park is well known for its giant baobabs and elephant. Located just 2 hours away of Arusha town. Here, apart from the game drives that we normally do and people experience we do also have a different activity which is a walking safari. We will be accompanied by a ranger who will be providing information of the flora and fauna present in Tarangire. The walk is normally along the Tarangire river.

CANOEING ACTIVITIES
Lake Duluti Canoeing
Lake Duluti is a small crater lake situated in eastern Arusha. It takes approximately 20 minutes from Arusha City. Lake Duluti is surrounded by a thick forest that is home to a number of reptiles like lizards and snakes while the lake itself is a sanctuary for varieties of bird species. Exploring the area around Lake Duluti is quite fun. Enjoy canoeing at Lake Duluti as well as the hike at the Duluti Forest and get to see the different animal and plant species.
Lake Duluti is formed inside a volcanic crater and has water throughout the year, mainly from groundwater and seasonal rainfall.
The crater is a subsidiary vent to Mount Meru (4566m) that towers over the lake. You will cross the smooth surface of this small Crater Lake and view birdlife; Giant kingfisher, Fish eagle, Darters and many more. Surrounded by forested crater walls this is a very special and quiet 1,5 hour canoeing experience. View hundreds of cattle egrets returning to an island in the lake to roost for the night.
Lake Momella Canoeing
Lake Momella is found in Arusha National Park whereby there is much to see starting from the birds and the surrounding environment. The Momela Lakes or Momella Lakes, are seven shallow lakes located within Arusha National Park namely: Big Momela, Small Momela, El Kekhotoito, Kusare, Rishateni, Lekandiro and Tulusia. Lakes are alkaline formed from the volcanic debris created when Mount Meru blew its top 250,000 years ago. You will enjoy a peaceful and scenic canoeing safari following the shorelines of small Momella Lake. On this 2- 2.5 hours canoe safari you can view buffaloes, bushbuck, giraffes, hippos and many water birds living in and close to the water.

Lake Manyara Canoeing
Lake Manyara can now cater needs for the guests who enjoy the unprecedented experience of waterside game viewing. From the safe shallow waters of this beautiful soda lake, guests paddle along the shoreline. Drifting past buffalo, giraffe and elephants on the banks and walloping hippo and fabulous aquatic bird life in the water, this is a most unusual and memorable safari seeing wildlife from a whole new perspective. “Wildlife from Water”

CULTURAL TOURS
Sinya Village Cultural Tour
This Sinya village is located in Western Kilimanjaro whereby there are suitable activities to do. Maasai “bomas” are sparsely scattered in Sinya, with a total population of no more than 2.000 people living in a huge area.
These maasai are still living the traditional way and are not used to the commercial relationship with tourists that is common in more visited areas. They are spectacularly dressed and follow all the traditional ceremonies. They are very friendly and we have been able to developed a privileged relationship with them. This is a Community Conservation Project benefiting the maasai of Sinya.
Activities may also include game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors, interaction with the local maasai including participation in ceremonies if available.

Maasai Village Visit
Enrich your safari holiday with a visit to a Maasai village in the Ngorongoro highlands – perhaps including a leisurely walk to the village across the rolling hills of the plateau. Spend time with the villagers, find out about their way of life, and join in their exuberant singing and dancing.
On arrival at the village, you will be greeted in a more traditional manner with plenty of singing and dancing, whereby you can participate on the traditional dances! There is also an opportunity to learn about some of the customary practices such as fire-making and beadwork. You may also get the chance to meet and speak to villagers in their homes – questions are very welcome and your guide will happily interpret if needed.
You can also purchase handmade leather and beadwork from the villagers, although these are also available in the camp shop.

Hadzabe & Datoga tribe at Lake Eyasi
The Hadzabe Bushmen tribe live in and around Lake Eyasi which is found on the southeast of Ngorongoro Highlands.
Once you are there you will visit the Hadzabe tribe and learn about their different traditions and daily life whereby you will get an opportunity to hunt with them, practice bow and arrow skills and learn about fruit picking with the women. You will also visit the Datoga tribe and about their art of blacksmith. You will learn the process from when metal is smelted and make different jewelry and arrows. After doing these activities, you will have lunch and drive back to Arusha or Karatu region for your further relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Mto Wa Mbu Village Visit
Mto Wa Mbu Village offers a very rare experience for visitors! Here, around 120 tribes are found in the village. It’s a cross-cultural melting pot with probably the most exotic mix of languages and customs found anywhere in Tanzania. When you enjoy a visit to the village you’ll be in the heart of the Northern Safari Circuit in Tanzania, so time spent here will be a welcome respite from your safari activities.
Mto Wa Mbu Village is close to Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park in the Great Rift Valley. During your visit in this village, you will have a lot of opportunities to experience and learn about the cultural ways of life of different tribes in this area. You will also get a chance to visit the local schools and farms in the area where rice and banana are grown. You can also have a lesson on how local brew is made from the crops grown in the area and have a cup of it.
Other activities that are found are like the biking tour and tuk tuk rides around the village interacting with the locals in the area. After these activities, you will end up in a Swahili cooking lesson where you will learn how the local tasty food is made and participate in the process before having a delicious plate of cooked food and fresh fruits.

BALLOON SAFARI
Enjoy an incredible Safari from The Sky over the Serengeti National Park, Tarangire & Ngorongoro conservation area boosting enchanting scenery and uninterrupted views as you embark on an extraordinary adventure. With amazing opportunities for stunning photographic moments, this miraculous glide over the ecosystem allows you to absorb the magnitude of the parks.
This is how you will be treated:
Special arrangements are made for you to depart before the break of dawn. This gives you a rare chance to experience the awakening of the surrounding wildlife and a wonderful sunrise. Your ticket will indicate the pick-up time at your lodge or camp’s premises.
Upon arrival at the launch site you will meet your pilot who will demonstrate all necessary safety information including the boarding and sitting positions for takeoff and landing. Coffee, tea, and biscuits will be served pre-flight. Photos are welcomed!
Planned take-off is at dawn – 6am.The flight depends mostly on the weather and the wind, thus varies from day to day, but generally it is an hour’s flight.
Once you land, our ground team will escort you to your breakfast area where you will commemorate this special event with a hearty breakfast amidst the wild ambiance. Special requests and pre-planned surprises can be arranged.
After that you will drive straight to your accommodation for the arranged breakfast and drive off for game drives.
HIKING ACTIVITIES
Kilimanjaro day hike via Marangu Route
On this Kilimanjaro day trip to Mandara/Maundi crater via Marangu route:
Early morning after breakfast, you will be transferred straight to Kilimanjaro National Park’s gate. At Marangu gate, you have to do some registrations and start the hike. Marangu gate is 1879m above sea level and the distance to Mandara hut is 8km which will take 3 to 4 hours. The first leg of the hike is along narrow ridge that winds through the lush and dense rain forest vegetation. It gives mysterious and hushed feeling walking through the mists, with the trees adorned with moss. The canopy overhead is alive with birdsong and strange rustlings that could be anything from a Colobous monkey to Mongoose scuttling ahead of you.
After 3-hour hike, stop to rest your legs and have lunch at the Hut and once you have replenished yourself, take the short but challenging walk to the Maundi Crater.
On a clear day, the views to the east over Taveta and to the northwest to Mawenzi Peak are stunning. Don’t forget your camera! After basking in the beauty of it, you’ll hike back down to the Marangu Gate where our vehicle will be waiting for you to drive you back to Arusha.
Endoro Falls Hike to the Elephant caves
On this hike to Endoro falls, you will be inside Ngorongoro conservation area whereby you will be accompanied by a guide who will walk you through the forest straight to the elephant caves whereby the elephants go there in search of mineral salts. You will also get a chance to visit the endoro falls which is a waterfall in the area and after that track some of the animals on the highland. You can spot the dik diks in the area and after that have a break with packed lunch boxes and then proceed with your hike back to the entrance. These activities take approximately 2 hours.
